About Us
Oseran Hahn Spring Straight & Watts, P.S., a Martindale-Hubbell AV - rated firm and one of the oldest law firms on the Eastside, originated as a 1960 Seattle partnership between Melville Oseran and Jerry Hahn. A major aerospace client convinced them to office in Kent until early in the 70's, when the "lights went out" at Boeing. The firm then moved to Bellevue. Over the years, Bob Kelley, Ed Spring, David Tall, Jim Clark, Matt Straight, and Tom Hansen joined as shareholders, Craig Blackstone, Ginger Edwards-Buetow, Rani Kay Sampson, and Bill Hsu as associates and Michel Stern, of counsel. In 1991, the firm merged with Watts, becoming "Oseran Hahn Van Valin & Watts" but recently changed to "Oseran Hahn Spring & Watts". The firm has evolved into Oseran Hahn Spring Straight & Watts.
We pride ourselves on having
stayed together as a cohesive
unit, resisting merger overtures
by large "downtown" firms, because
of our camaraderie and independence.
Our relatively slow growth,
longevity and loyalty are products
of the belief that we should
be friends as well as team members.
Our dedicated staff is equally
constant; some have been with
us for over 20 years and counting.
We believe that our clients
recognize our relaxed but professional
style of delivering quality
legal services, promptly and
efficiently. Ethics, extreme
care and attention to detail
are our hallmarks. We pride
ourselves in being "deal makers",
not "deal breakers", whether
in guiding our clients through
a complex real estate development,
negotiating a large commercial
lease or business purchase or
settling a significant personal
injury case.
We are also committed to professional,
civic, and charitable service
including pro bono legal
services, Big Brothers, coaching
youth sports, presiding over
youth services organizations,
serving on boards of the King
County and East King County
bar Association, as well as
other charitable and community
organizations.
